Stability analysis of a general age-dependent vaccination model for a vertically transmitted disease under the proportionate mixing assumption

M. EL-DOMA

Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, University of Khartoum Khartoum, Sudan

An SIR epidemic model of a general age-dependent vaccination of a vertically as well as horizontally transmitted disease is investigated when the total population is in steady state. We assume proportionate mixing and age-dependent fertility, mortality and removal rates. We determine the steady states and examine their stabilities.

Keywords: Vertical transmission; horizontal transmission; age-structure; epidemic; stability.
