An Optimal Reduced-Order Model by Orthogonal State Variables
Electrical and Computer Engineering Department, College of Engineering and Petroleum, Kuwait University P.O. Box 5969, 13060 Safat, Kuwait
A zero-input linear time-invariant system is considered. A set of state variables are formulated. The location of zeros of such state variables are used to demonstrate some concepts in control theory. Applications to reduced-order models are discussed. The concept of orthogonal state variablesfirst introduced by the authoris shown, in a particular case, to be superior to some other concepts in model-reduction analysis.
