Root-Clustering Criteria (II): Linear Matrix Equations

We present the second part of our root-clustering investigation. Given A {varepsilon} Cnxn and A C, we search for a criterion assuring the inclusion {Sigma}(A) A. In this paper we study a criterion based on linear matrix equations (LME), a method generalizing the Lyapunov criterion. We point out some similarities to the composite-matrix approach and comment on the largest class of regions for which the LME approach is valid.
