Stability Analysis for Discrete Linear Multipass Processes with Non-Unit Memory

E. ROGERS and D. H. OWENS

Centre for Industrial Mathematics and Control, University of Strathclyde Glasgow G1 1XH, Scotland

A new set of stability conditions for discrete linear multipass processes with non-unit memory is derived and used to develop computationally feasible stability tests. This results in a systematic procedure which tests these conditions in a particular order, with termination if the one just tested does not hold. The use of this procedure within the area of control systems design is discussed.
