STEPHEN BARNETT

Department of Mathematics, University of Essex Wivenhoe Park,Colchester CO4 3SQ, UK

A concise review is given of some recent methods for performing algebraic operations on polynominal matrices. The problems addressed are division, inversion, and extraction of greatest common divisor of a pair of matrices.

{dagger}Based on a presentation at the International Symposium on the Mathematical theory of Networks and Systems, Amsterdam, June 1989.
