Robust stabilization control design for multivariable nonlinear uncertain systems

LIQUN CONG and P. H. LANDERS

Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, University of Abertay Bell Street, Dundee DD1 1HG, UK

The paper develops a new control technique for multivariable nonlinear systems in the presence of uncertainties and external disturbances. The proposed design method does not require that the uncertainties should satisfy matching conditions; nor does it require that the nominal system should be stable or prestabilized. The robust-control strategy is established using concepts from variable-structure theory and is based on Lyapunov stability theory. The control possesses a quite simple structure which is related to the given uncertainty bounds.
