This paper studies the decoupling problem in infinite-dimensional system using the so-called geometric approach of Wonham, and presents necessary and/or sufficient conditions for the problem to be solvable for various cases, including (a) the case for which the input operator B satisfies dim (Im B) = k, where k is the number of output blocks, and (b) the case for which the pre-input operator G satisfies rank G = m, where m is the dimension of the input space.
