   Abstract

In this paper, we investigate optimal control problem governed by variational inequality of the obstacle type. Existence of solution for the problem is proved and we also show how to obtain optimality conditions for a penalized problem issued from the original one.

Keywords: optimal control; variational inequalities; optimality conditions; obstacle problem.
